As the weather gets colder, we want to take advantage of our existing wardrobe without having to buy new items especially you want to stick a minimal wardrobe. The thing to do is to think outside the box a bit and mix and match what you have and create new outfits with your existing items. For today I will go into detail on how to dress around a plain long sleeve black top.
Before I do I want to emphasize the importance on owning certain plain pieces. One of the reasons owning basic pieces such as a long sleeve or a camisole is to be able to dress around them. These pieces can either be dressed up or down or it can be helpful layering pieces. The beauty of these basic layering pieces is you don’t have to own so many just if you know how to dress around them.
For the first look I paired this regular long sleeve tee with a slightly oversized leopard print blazer, black ankle pants, and burgundy over the knee boots. For accessories I added a gold buckle chain necklace, and you can add simple small earrings because the necklace already adds a bold statement to the outfit.

For this look I wanted to make it office appropriate, so I added this with a dark pink pencil skirt and gray classic heels. I topped the outfit off with a cape, sunglasses and don't forget your favorite handbag for work. You can choose which jewelry you prefer to wear. I also added two pairs of shoes to give you an idea that both pair of shoes would work just fine.

This next outfit is a bit more on the casual side. I paired the top with a pair of military green pants, you can go for black or taupe colored riding boots, and to keep warm a navy-blue jacket. You can also wear sneakers with this outfit if you prefer. For accessories I added a grey paperboy hat that I purchased from Amazon.

I would have added links to the other items however, a lot of the items you’ll see I’ve owned for quite some time and some even years.
For this next look I decided this was for a more formal occasion. I took this plain long sleeve tee and added an A-line midi skirt that came perfectly equipped with pockets. For shoes I wanted to add some sparkle to the look. Since the shoes are a statement on their own choose wisely when it comes to accessories. This isn’t to say the accessories must be simple just if they complement the shoes and the outfit well. Let your imagination and your creativity take over for the makeup look and your hair. All these outfits can also be worn with a black sweater, tank top, and short sleeve, just as much as a long black sleeve tee.
