One of the things I love about this time of year are all the beautiful colors and patterns that go so well together. Like every other season this is the perfect time for fashion and style creativity and the options are unlimited. I encourage women to have fun with their clothes and not be afraid to mix and match.

First, make sure the colors you choose go well with your complexion and bring out your natural features instead of washing you out. Second, if you're if going to choose patterns, you will also want to make sure these patterns go well with your body. They should accentuate your most flattering parts and hide anything you don't want to be showcased. Third, shoes make the outfit and so do accessories. Never leave out a good pair of shoes and don't be afraid to accessorize. Fourth, don't be afraid to add colors together that you never thought of mixing before. You'll surprise yourself on the amount of color combinations you'd come up with that you probably never thought about before. Fifth, have fun with your style and be creative. While the colors during the fall and winter tend to be darker that doesn't mean that fashion must be boring. Use this to challenge yourself on your creativity.

While there are many more color combinations for autumn, I just wanted to give you an idea of which colors for autumn work well together and complement one another. Many of these color combinations aren't always the typical color combinations you would think of, but I promise you they work so well together. One of the reasons why, is because many of the combinations are on opposite sides of the color wheel so when paired together, they look very stimulating, vibrating, and different. In addition to these colors, you can also add light colors just if everything flows well together. For example, a baby blue sweater, dark jeans, and oatmeal-colored booties. Topped off with a pair of sunglasses and your favorite fall jacket and it's a perfect outfit for a casual weekend brunch.

The good thing about these color combinations is that each pair isn't just exclusive to one another, you can add another color into the mix and the colors will still work so well altogether. For instance, mustard yellow, classic blue and then add camel to finish the look. Like a mustard yellow blouse, a classic blue pencil skirts or pants and then top the outfit off with a pair of camel or cognac boots, booties, or heels. If you really want to add something extra add a leopard print belt, handbag, or jacket. The same is true for olive green and burgundy, camel and oatmeal, the possibilities are endless and all you must do is just see how the colors complement each other. One thing to always keep in mind is that patterns and colors don't have to match they just have to go well together.
